Yesterday, I dedicated the day to tidying up my office, a task that was long overdue. I sorted through old files, books, journals, and items I had nearly forgotten. Among these, I found a testimonial from a client I worked with for around five years. Reading her words reminded me once again this week why I am passionate about my work. Whenever I have doubts, it is always their stories that inspire me to keep going.

Carol's Success Story:

Life presents many challenges and there are many ups and downs along the way. How a person deals with these can make a difference in whether there is peace or turmoil in their life. I have had many difficult times in my life, but am now at a peaceful place where I feel good about myself and have the necessary tools that can help me overcome almost any obstacle.

I have started turning my life around, but there were still some areas where I felt out of control. At the top of the list was my weight. I had struggled with this my whoe life and it affected my relationships, my self-esteem, and my emotional state. I really had no idea how much my whole life was centered around my weight. I went through a period of depression and began therapy. I made a lot of progress, but the weight issue was never resolved. Four years ago I heard about a health coach named Carrie. I knew someone she had worked with and this person had lost weight and toned up. I thought maybe this was the answer for me. I called Carrie, made an appointment, and began an amazing journey!

Carrie had just developed a program called "Foundations." I hav3e slowly come to realize that it is exactly that - TOTAL transformation. I was under the mistaken impression that my only reason for begining the program was to get control over my weight situation. I was never so wrong and have learned after four years that every aspect of my life works together to make me the person I am. Not just my weight, but relationships, finances, self-image, guild issues, self-worth, and social anxiety were areas I needed to work on. Through working the program, I made progress in many of the areas, but my weight seemed the last that I could get a handle on. I suddenly had an epiphany - I needed to tackle the other areas that needed work before I could begin to conquer the one thing that has plagued me all my life - my weight.

The Foundations Program, with Carrie's guidance, helped me identify my needs and set up daily goals to help me satisfy those needs. It was very helpful that Carrie was following the program for herself and she would give me insights into what was working for her. I was slowly becoming the best version of myself that God intended me to be! I was feeling much better about myself, realizing I was worth putting time, money, and effort into. I had always put others first. Now I was putting myself first.

I am just beginning my fifth year with Carrie and since joining a diabetes weight loss support group in January, I am down 25 pounds! I am finally at a place where I can concentrate on my weight without the other issues hanging over my head. I truly believe that Foundations and Carrie have brought me to this wonderful place in my life. Through daily goal setting and weekly sessions with Carrie, I have totally transformed myself. By working on ALL the areas of my life, I have become more confident, less guilty, better in social situations, more able to handle relationship issues and able to get control of my eating habits. I made it through some very challenging times during these past four years, and I credit my hard work with Carrie for giving me the tools and the strength to handle them. I am confident that my total transformation has made me a stronger, more confident person, and I couldn't be happier with myself.

Earlier this week, I had the honor of being a guest speaker at the monthly Women in Education meeting. I presented on topics such as mental health, a holistic approach to wellness, housing for the homeless, and shared some of my experiences in the field. I encountered some incredible women and reconnected with a few familiar faces.

This morning, a former client with whom I've collaborated intermittently over the years contacted me. We had a brief conversation and agreed to meet up next week for a walk to discuss things further in person. She not only reminded me of my passion for my work but also of the lifelong friendships I've cultivated throughout my career in this field.

There's a particular feeling you get when you're on the right track, and this week, I've been consistently reminded of how significant the work is that I'm fortunate to be engaged in.

I'm feeling particularly thankful today and wanted to share my gratitude, wishing you a fantastic weekend!
