Finding Fulfillment in the Fuckery

Because sometimes fulfillment looks like a meltdown, a magic box, and a pack of Gushers.

We had a plan… and then life laughed. In this episode, we get real about feeling overwhelmed, off-track, and in serious need of a reset. It’s a conversation about pausing, pivoting, and finding our way back to ourselves.

We reflect on how reconnecting with pieces of our past can spark something new—from standing quietly in the snow, to digging into a creative photo challenge, to pulling random magic from Carrie’s Creation Box… or Britt’s Joy Jar (which may or may not suggest eating an entire pack of Gushers—no regrets).

We also get into the core practices that help us feel human again: meeting our basic needs, embracing solitude, soaking up nature, setting boundaries, and making the radical choice to put ourselves first. Because while we deeply value our relationships with others, we’re learning that the foundation of all connection starts with the one we have with ourselves.

This episode is about embracing the mess, finding moments of magic, and choosing love—even (especially) in the middle of the fuckery.

Carrie’s Magical Creation Box

"If you take a risk with only one acceptable result, you're going to be crushed if things don't pan out the way you expected. Not only that, but you won't be open to serendipity. If you're determined to be the dictator of your own story, you'll miss the thrill of chance meetings, the breathtaking excitement of unanticipated plot twists, and the rush of joy that comes with pleasant surprises."

~ Rhonda Britten

Refocusing, Reconnecting, and Finding Inspiration

After Britt and I talked, I realized how much I’d been craving stillness—the kind you only find when you step away from screens and noise and let yourself breathe for a minute. So I did just that. I got outside, felt the crisp air on my skin, and let the colors of fall remind me that change can be beautiful, too. The quiet had a way of clearing the clutter in my head, helping me refocus and reconnect with what really matters.

There’s something healing about slowing down and letting nature do its thing around you. The rhythm of the wind, the crunch of leaves, the warmth of the sun on your face—it’s like the world gently pulling you back to center. And in that space, inspiration started to find its way back in.

Talking things through with a good friend—someone who truly gets it—was the start of that shift. Sometimes that’s the best kind of therapy: being seen, being heard, and remembering you’re not alone in the mess. Because even when fulfillment looks like a meltdown, a magic box, and a pack of Gushers, it’s still part of the story—and it’s still worth showing up for.
